May 14th: Breakfast with Mom – Moms (or any female role model) are encouraged to eat breakfast with their child on Monday, May 14th. Breads, muffins, sweet rolls, fresh fruit, milk, and juice will be served. Breakfast will begin at 7:30. If moms have students in both Upper and Lower Elementary, they are asked to bring their family to the Lower Cafeteria.
May 16th: 2nd Grade Shawnee Rescue Mission Field Trip – The second grade Students of the Month will serve lunch with Mrs. Affentranger at the Shawnee Rescue Mission on Wednesday, May 16th. They will have lunch at Woodland Park on the corner of Highland and Broadway. The suburban will leave at 10:40 and return at 1:10.
May 17th: Rise-N-Shine - We will have a special Rise-N-Shine on Monday, May 7th, at 9:15am in the Lower Cafeteria. We also recognize summer birthdays and students who met their individual reading and math goals in May. If the Lower Elementary meets their 4th Nine Weeks Principal’s Reading Challenge, Mrs. Affentranger will be kissing a donkey, too!
May 17th: Math Challenge Field Trip – Mrs. Affentranger will be taking the first and second grade students who met their individual math goal to KidSpace Park in Shawnee. The buses will be leaving at 9:00 and returning at 11:00. Water will be provided.
May 17th: Principal’s Challenge Inflatables Celebration – The Inflatables Celebration is a result of PreK-2nd grade meeting all four Nine Weeks Principal’s Challenges in reading. Upon completion of the 4th Nine Weeks Principal’s Reading Challenge, students with parental permission will be able to play on inflatables at school. Second grade students will play from 11:20-12:05, Kdg from 12:05-12:55, 1st grade from 12:55-1:40, and PreK from 1:40-2:25. (Mrs. Marlow’s PreK class will play from 10:30-11:15.) Please call the office if you are willing to volunteer for the celebration.
May 18th: NO SCHOOL – We will be out of school Friday, May 18th.
May 21st: Kdg Field Trip – The Kindergarten students will leave at 8:20 for their field trip to the Oklahoma City Zoo. Students are asked to wear their Kdg class t-shirts and comfortable shoes. Please send a sack lunch with a drink and one extra drink to school with your child. Siblings are not allowed on the field trip. The busses will return at 2:30.
May 22nd: PreK Celebrations – Students should report to their classrooms by 8:45. The PreK Celebrations will begin promptly at 9:00. Mrs. Epperley and Mrs. Wade will have their celebration together in the Lower Cafeteria. Ms. Long’s celebration will be in the Old Gym. Mrs. Marlow’s celebration will be upstairs in the Upper Cafeteria.
May 22nd: PreK Field Trip – The PreK students will leave at 10:00 for their field trip to Jasmine Moran Children’s Museum in Seminole. Students are asked to wear their PreK t-shirts and bring a sack lunch. Parents attending the field trip will pay their admission of $7.00 at the museum and will also need to bring a sack lunch.
May 23rd: Kdg Graduation – The Kdg Graduation will begin at 9:30 in the New Gym. Students should be ready for graduation pictures with their class at 9:00.
May 23rd: End of the 4th Nine Weeks/2nd Semester / Report Cards Go Home - Report Cards will be sent home Wednesday, March 23rd.
